On Monday Dec. 28, 2015, Edmonton Police detectives provided additional information from their ongoing investigation into a shooting that took place at a residence in the area of Graham Wynd and 199 Street just before 5:00 a.m. on Dec. 27, 2015.
“We believe the shot was fired from 199 Street toward the home,” says Acting Detective Dylan Witwer. “There were other people sleeping in the home at the time, including a child. At this point it is early in our investigation and we are exploring all leads, however, the shooting appears to be a very serious random act of violence.”
A 49-year-old female was sleeping in the home when she was shot. The complainant’s condition is described as stable but critical.
Anyone who may have seen suspicious activity in the area of 199 Street and 62 Avenue, including vehicle descriptions, between 3:00 and 5:00 a.m. on Sunday, Dec. 27, 2015 are asked to contact police.

Dec. 27, 2015: Police investigate shooting in city’s southwest – Edmonton Police Service Southwest Division officers are investigating a shooting that took place early this morning (Sunday, Dec. 27, 2015).
EPS and EMS responded to a trouble not known call at a residence in the area of Graham Wynd and 199 Street just before 5:00 a.m.. When emergency responders arrived, they found a female who had suffered a gunshot wound. EMS treated and transported the female to hospital.
