Police searching for several suspects in early-morning armed B & E

Police continue to investigate an early-morning armed break and enter at a northeast Edmonton residence, which resulted in a male resident being taken to hospital with a gun-shot wound to his leg.

Northeast Division patrol officers responded to an address near 119 Avenue and 38 Street, at approximately 7:35 a.m., Monday, March 21st, after receiving an alarm call and corresponding weapons complaint.

It was reported to police that several masked suspects forcibly entered the residence, before dispensing bear spray. A 50-year-old sustained a gun-shot wound to his leg during the break and enter, and was treated and taken to hospital by EMS personnel with non-life threatening injuries.

Several suspects fled the scene prior to the arrival of patrol officers. Investigators continue to interview witnesses.
