Matthew McKnight, 29, is charged with sexual assault causing bodily harm, sexual assault (x2) and unlawful confinement.
On Apr. 1, 2016, it was a reported that a 17-year-old female left a bar in the area of 107 Street and Jasper Avenue with friends to attend McKnight’s residence for an ‘after party,’ where she was allegedly sexually assaulted.
Just over two weeks later on Apr. 16, a 22-year-old female also left a bar in the area of 107 Street and Jasper Avenue. The female then attended the residence of McKnight with friends, where she was allegedly sexually assaulted.
The third incident is believed to have occurred on July 6, 2016, when a 21-year-old female left a bar in the area of 106 Street and 82 Avenue and attended McKnight’s residence where she was allegedly sexually assaulted.
Detectives from the Edmonton Police Service’s Sexual Assault Section began investigating the alleged sexual assaults after a complainant reported an incident to police on Apr. 1, 2016.
