Charges laid in homicide near Fox Drive

Edmonton Police Homicide detectives have charged a man in relation to the weekend homicide near Fox Drive.

Connor James Miller, 21, has been charged with second degree murder, possession of a weapon dangerous purpose, assault peace officer and resist arrest.

Police believe an altercation took place between the accused and the deceased, who knew each other.

Background

On Saturday, Oct. 22, 2016 police were dispatched to a trouble not known around 8:30 p.m. at the Alfred H. Savage Centre near Fox Drive. Upon arrival, police found a deceased male.

The Edmonton Medical Examiner conducted an autopsy on 19-year-old Christopher Fawcett and confirmed the cause of death was a result of stab wounds.

A 21-year-old male suspect was taken into custody shortly thereafter and was considered a person of interest.
