Police investigating homicide in south Edmonton

The Edmonton Police Service Homicide Section is treating the death of a man, who succumbed to his injuries in hospital late yesterday, as a homicide.

On Wednesday, Jan. 4, 2017, at approximately 4:30 a.m., Southwest Patrol officers were called to the area of 103 Street and 45 Avenue on the report of an assault. When officers arrived they located Darrian Trevino-Sabourin, 21, in critical condition in a suite. Trevino-Sabourin was treated and transported to hospital, where he succumbed to his injuries at approximately 6:30 p.m..

Homicide investigators are conducting interviews and are looking to speak with anyone who may have information about this incident.

An autopsy was completed this morning, Dec. 5, 2017, at 9 a.m. and the Edmonton Medical Examiner determined that Trevino-Sabourin died as a result of multiple stab wounds.

Police do not have anyone in custody at this time.
