A motorcyclist is in hospital after sustaining extensive serious injuries in a criminal hit and run last night.

On Saturday, Sept 14, 2013, just before 9 p.m., a 2013 Victory High Ball motorcycle travelling east on 118 Avenue was struck by a four door sedan at the intersection of 126 Street and 118 Avenue.

The sedan, travelling north on 126 Street, had allegedly ran a stop sign moments before the collision; the sedan then sped away, and was last seen heading north on 127 Street, leaving the victim alone on the road and in need of emergency medical care.

Witnesses stated the suspect vehicle, described as a grey or light brown four-door sedan, was occupied by a male and female at the time of the collision.

The 33-year-old male on the motorcycle was treated by EMS on scene and transported to hospital with extensive serious injuries.

The EPS Major Collisions Investigation Unit is leading the investigation. Damage to the suspect vehicle will be front bumper and other body damage as well as a possible shattered windshield.

If you have information on the suspects, the sedan with front-end damage or anything that may assist investigators, please contact the EPS at 780-423-4567or #377 from a mobile phone.  Anonymous information can be submitted to Crime Stoppers at 1-800-222-8477 or online at www.tipsubmit.com/start.htm.
