Poppy fund theft in southeast Edmonton

Southeast Division officers are investigating a theft of a poppy fund box from a grocery store in Bonnie Doon and are asking the public for assistance in identifying a male suspect.

On Monday, Nov. 4, 2013 around 2 p.m., a grocery store in the area of 83 Street and 82 Avenue reported their poppy donation box was missing. After reviewing surveillance video, it appears a man allegedly stole the donation container from the customer service till.

The suspect is described as a slim Caucasian male who is about 5"10 tall with a goatee. He has long dark hair and was wearing big black winter coat, a light brown hoodie, dark jeans, black footwear; a black baseball hat with white trim.

Investigators are also trying to identify a female was observed walking into the store at the same time as the suspect who they believe may have more information about the incident.
