Homicide investigators have charged a 25-year-old woman with second-degree murder in connection with the death of an Edmonton woman that occurred early Friday morning in a west-end residence.
Northwest Division patrol officers responded to an address near 128 Avenue and 124 Street, after receiving a call for assistance from a nearby residence.
Upon arrival, officers found a 21-year-old female in medical distress, suffering from what appeared to be a stab wound.
Paramedics treated and transported the young woman to hospital, where she succumbed to her injuries earlier this morning.
Autopsy results released by the Medical Examiner yesterday, confirmed that a 21-year-oldwomandied from a stab wound early Friday morning, March 31, 2017, following an altercation with the accused.
Investigators have charged Megan Loos, 25, with second-degree murder and possession of an offensive weapon.
This marks Edmonton’s 11th homicide of 2017.
