Police seek witnesses to assault

The Edmonton Police Service is seeking witnesses to an assault that occurred in northwest Edmonton last week.

It was reported that the alleged assault took place the afternoon on Tuesday, Mar. 28, 2017 between 4 p.m. and 4:30 p.m. in the area of 117 Avenue and 82 Street. The 64-year-old male attended a liquor store and convenience store in the area and walked back to his residence. Police believe he was assaulted in an alleyway in the area of 117 Avenue between 82 and 85 Street while walking home.

 

When he arrived home, a family member treated his injuries. At approximately 4:30 a.m. on Wednesday Mar. 29, 2017, the male experienced a medical episode. EMS responded to his residence, treated and transported him to hospital where he remains with life-threatening injuries. Later that day, police were notified of the complainant's injuries by a local hospital and started to investigate. 

  

The male complainant is described as Caucasian, 5’9” tall, with a thin build and brown hair. He was wearing blue jeans, a white and black hoodie, a dark blue t-shirt with the word “Jasper” on the front and a black backpack.
