The images (see below) capture male suspects lighting fires to garbage dumpsters and cans at various locations across Callingwood, including behind a condo unit, at a baseball diamond, a dog park and next to a school (three occurrences at the latter location).
Southwest Division detectives are investigating the recent series, which commenced on Saturday, July 15, 2017, around 8 p.m., at a school near 62 Avenue and 172 Street.
The fire bugs struck again on July 15th, when a dumpster was set on fire behind a condo unit near 66 Avenue and 172 Street.
Later that Saturday evening, police received reports of a shed being set on fire on the property of a church near 61 Avenue and 172 Street.
Southwest Division patrol officers responded to a report of a garbage can fire at approximately 11 a.m., Sunday, July 16, 2017, at a baseball diamond near 63 Avenue and 172 Street.
At 1 p.m. July 16th, officers received another report of a dumpster fire in the parking lot of a school near 62 Avenue and 172 Street - the same dumpster set on fire the previous day.
And in the most recent incident reported at approximately 9:30 p.m., Wednesday, July 26th, police responded to the same school (62 Avenue and 172 Street) where a garbage can had been lit on fire at the side of the building.
Investigators believe these persons of interest may be responsible for nine arsons to date throughout the southwest neighbourhood, including three fires involving garbage cans, logs and a propane tank in a dog park near 69 Avenue and 172 Street.
