Police investigating sexual interference incident with five-year-old child

The Edmonton Police Service is investigating an indecent act and sexual interference incident involving a young child, after an adult male exposed himself to a five-year-old girl in a southwest Edmonton park last weekend.

The EPS Child at Risk Response Team is investigated the incident, after being contacted by a member of the complainant’s family on Sunday, July 31, 2017.

It was reported to police that an adult male riding a bicycle approached the girl who was playing in Michener Park near Bowlen Road and Page Avenue on Saturday, July 30th, sometime between 7 p.m. and 9 p.m.

The male suspect then allegedly convinced the child to follow him into an isolated area of the park, where he exposed his genitals and attempted to contact the girl for a sexual purpose.

 

The male is described as having a tanned complexion, approximately 5’7” tall with brown eyes, short, spiky grey/black hair and grey/black hair on his chin. He was wearing shorts and a grey T-shirt at the time of the incident and had a yellow and grey backpack with him.|

EPS Child Protection detectives continues to investigate.
