Southwest Division patrol officers responded to the collision call at approximately 2 a.m., Thursday, August 10, 2017, on Calgary Trail just north of the Whitemud. Upon arrival officers found a male lying on the ground in the middle of the road in medical duress.
Paramedics treated and transported the male to hospital, where he remains today in serious condition.
The driver of an unidentified vehicle left the scene after the collision, and may have driven westbound down the 106 Street exit ramp. Investigators are looking to speak with anyone who may have witnessed the collision or have information about the driver and/or the vehicle involved.

The Edmonton Police Service Major Collision Investigations Unit is investigating a pedestrian/vehicle collision that occurred overnight in southwest Edmonton, which sent a 23-year-old male to hospital with serious injuries.
