The 50-year-old Edmonton restauranteur was gunned down outside of his Crestwood residence five years ago tomorrow, on Sept. 9th, 2012, at approximately 11:10 p.m.
West Division patrol members were called to a residence in the area of 145 Street and 97 Avenue after reports of shots being fired nearby. Upon arrival, officers discovered Wong lying on the driveway. He was pronounced deceased at the scene by paramedics.
“We’re looking for any leads from the public that will help us progress our investigation,” said EPS Homicide Det. Alan Elliott. “It’s been five years since the Wong family lost their loved one to such a violent and tragic death.
Five years have passed since Wong was murdered, time which investigators hope will encourage someone to come forward with important information.
“Sometimes people with evidence are too intimidated to come forward to police at the outset of such a traumatizing event. We certainly understand that fear, though we’re hopeful that anyone with information regarding this murder will feel more comfortable now to contact police or Crime Stoppers anonymously.”
