The Edmonton Police Service is investigating a collision between a pedestrian and an LRT train that occurred at approximately 11:15 a.m. today.
The collision occurred on the LRT tracks near 57 Avenue on 111 Street on the city’s south side. An 82-year-old male was treated by EMS paramedics and taken to hospital with unknown injuries.
Southwest Patrol members have closed 57 Avenue to oncoming traffic until further notice. LRT trains continue to single track around the collision area, and are expected to be fully operational within the hour.
