The Edmonton Police Service has charged a city man in connection with two separate assaults on females, which occurred early Saturday morning in the neighbourhoods of Whyte Avenue and Allendale.

On Nov. 23, 2013, around 1 a.m., a 19-year-old female was walking by herself in the area of 84 Avenue and 106 Street, when she was approached by an unknown male. The suspect allegedly placed his hand over her mouth and shoved the victim to the ground. The female screamed and struggled with the male, who then fled the area. The female was not injured in the assault.

At about 1:40 a.m., another 19-year-old female was walking by herself in the area of 61 Avenue and 108 Street, when she was approached by an unknown male. This male allegedly placed his hand over her mouth and again, shoved the victim to the ground. The female screamed and struggled with her attacker. She was not injured in the assault. The male again fled the area.

One of the complainants was able to provide police with a detailed description of the male, as being Caucasian, 25-35 years old, 5’11 and 175 lbs with red /brown hair and beard. He was wearing glasses, black pants, black gloves and a black jacket with a green hoodie underneath.

A male matching the description was subsequently located at a nearby gas station and arrested.

Jeremy Robert Dixon, 36, was charged with assault (x2) and breach of probation.

Investigators would like to hear from anyone who might have additional information about these two assaults or any others that have occurred in the Whyte Avenue area by calling the Edmonton Police Service at 780-423-4567or #377 from a mobile phone.  Anonymous information can also be submitted to Crime Stoppers at 1-800-222-8477.
