Autopsy completed for north Edmonton assault victim

The suspicious death that occurred on Wednesday, Jan. 17 is being investigated as Edmonton’s 2nd homicide of 2018.

The Edmonton Medical Examiner completed the autopsy on Thursday, Jan. 18, 2018, and it was determined that Jarvis Katz, 28, died as a result of a stab wound.

 

Homicide detectives continue to seek information about the assault and the events leading up to it.

Background

At approximately 8:30 p.m. on Monday, January 15, 2018, Northwest Division patrol officers were called to a residential area near 118 Avenue and 80 Street, after it was reported that a 28-year-old male had been stabbed.

 

Jarvis Katz, 28 was treated and transported to hospital, where he succumbed to his injuries on the morning of Wednesday, January 17.

 

Every file is evaluated on a case by case basis. The EPS has decided to release the name of the deceased as it serves an investigative purpose.
