On Saturday, Dec. 16, 2017, officers responded to a check on welfare call at a north Edmonton residence. Upon arrival, officers found five children in the residence and an investigation was initiated.
All five children received medical attention and are safe at this time.
As a result of the investigation, two adults that reside in the home were charged with numerous criminal offences:
A23-year-old female has been charged with attempted murder, aggravated assault, abandonment of a child (x2), unlawful confinement (x5), criminal negligence (x2) and assault with a weapon (x2).
A 24-year-old female has been charged with attempted murder, aggravated assault, abandonment of a child (x2), duty to provide necessities of life (x2), unlawful confinement (x5) and criminal negligence (x2).
