Homicide Section investigating suspicious death in northeast Edmonton

The Edmonton Police Service Homicide Section is investigating the suspicious death of a male, who died early Sunday morning following an incident in northeast Edmonton.

At approximately 3:35 a.m. earlier today, Sunday, April 8, 2018, Northeast Division patrol officers responded to a weapon’s complaint near 145 Avenue and 91 Street. Residents in the area reported hearing gunshots being fired near the Evansdale Community Hall.

 

Upon arrival on scene, Northeast patrol officers learned that an injured male had been rushed to a medical centre by family members, where he later succumbed to his injuries.

 

Homicide detectives have since taken over the investigation. No further information is available at this time, as the investigation remains in its preliminary stages.
