The Edmonton Police Service Robbery Section has arrested and charged a 22-year-old Wetaskiwin man in connection to a robbery series that victimized 14 businesses.Between May 3 and July 16, 2018, 14 commercial robberies were committed involving businesses throughout south Edmonton.
In each case, the male suspect entered convenience and liquor stores carrying various weapons, including a crow bar and box cutter, before demanding cash from the clerks. Thankfully, none of the clerks were injured during the robberies.
Joshua Werner, 22, of Wetaskiwin, was arrested on warrants near Innisfail yesterday, during a traffic stop by the RCMP. He is facing 31 robbery and weapons-related charges.
