Southeast Division patrol members responded to a vandalism call from ETS in the communities of Silverberry, Wildrose and Tamarack, at approximately 3:30 p.m. yesterday afternoon, Thursday, April 25, 2019. Upon arrival, witnesses told police that several teen male suspects driving in a red Honda Civic was allegedly shooting out the glass of bus shelters along Silverberry Road with what appeared to be an airsoft pistol.
Police located the suspect vehicle later that evening, and took a 17-year-old male into custody for questioning. The youth, whose name cannot be released under the Youth Criminal Justice Act, was subsequently charged with one global count of mischief over $5,000.
Investigators believe there were other suspects in the Honda Civic and involved in the vandalism spree. A total of 20 bus shelters were damaged in the southeast communities with repair costs estimated to be more than $30,000.
