EPS charge man after several vehicles had tires slashed in west end

The EPS has charged a 22-year-old male in relation to a tire-slashing spree in the city’s west end.

Jimmy Houle, 22, is facing multiple charges including several counts of mischief, possession of an offensive weapon dangerous to the public and assaulting a peace officer.

Residents in the area of 113 Avenue and 125 Street are still encouraged to check their vehicles and report any damage that may have occurred over the last 48 hours.

To date, 10 reports of tire-slashing in this neighborhood have been reported to police.

Background

Just after midnight, on Thursday, July 9, 2020, police responded to an address near 113 Avenue and 125 Street regarding a mischief complaint. Upon arrival, officers located a 22-year-old male who allegedly slashed the tires on several vehicles in the area. The male suspect was taken into custody and has several charges pending against him.

A little later that morning, around 9:30 a.m., police responded to the same neighborhood after several other complainants contacted police after discovering their vehicle’s tires had also been slashed.
