The Edmonton Police Service is seeking the public’s assistance gathering information about a reported drive-by shooting that took place in northwest Edmonton last week.

On Friday, Sept. 4, 2020, Northwest Division officers responded to the report of a shooting in the area of 140 Avenue and 121 Street.  It was reported to police that at approximately 9:50 p.m. a white Hyundai Sonata with three male occupants was parked in the residential area. A few moments later, a black/dark coloured SUV reportedly drove by the Sonata and multiple shots were fired at the sedan, striking one of the male occupants. The SUV then reportedly fled the area travelling west on 140 Avenue and north on 122 Street

EMS responded, treated and transported the 23-year-old male to hospital with serious but non-life-threatening injuries where he remains. The other two male occupants, both in their 20s, did not report any injuries.

Detectives continue to investigate and are asking anyone with information about the SUV, its occupants or the shooting to contact the EPS. Drivers or residents in the area who may have dash cam or home security footage that was active at that time are also encouraged to contact police. A map of the area and the reported direction of travel of the SUV is included below.

Anyone with information about this crime is asked to contact the EPS at 780-423-4567or #377 from a mobile phone. Anonymous information can also be submitted to Crime Stoppers at 1-800-222-8477 or online at www.p3tips.com/250.
