The Edmonton Police Service has arrested and charged two men with various offences in connection to a month-long drug trafficking investigation.
On Tuesday, Oct. 26, 2021, members of the EPS Crime Suppression Branch and Special Project Team executed search warrants (CDSA) at two residences located in the downtown area.
Search of the properties resulted in police seizing $125,000 worth of controlled drugs and substances, including significant quantities of fentanyl, methamphetamine, cocaine and an illegal quantity of cannabis.
In addition to the illegal drugs, police seized weapons and other substances believed to be used in the production of illicit drugs.
Can Nguyen, 53, is facing charges including:
- Unlawful possession of cannabisfor purpose of sale,
- Possess proceeds of crime
- Possess prohibited weapon
- Possess controlled substance for purpose of trafficking (x3)
Minh Tran, 59, is charged with:
- Possess controlled substance for purpose of trafficking (x2)
