When police arrived, witnesses identified the 36-year-old male suspect involved, and he was subsequently taken into custody. Officers located an injured 64-year-old-male on scene and EMS responded, treated, and transported him to hospital with serious, life-threatening injuries. Today, Friday, May 20, 2022, an autopsy completed by the Edmonton Medical Examiner’s Office determined that Ban Phuc Hoang, 61, died of blunt force injuries to the head and neck. The manner of death is homicide.

Justin Bone, 36, has since been charged with second-degree murder and robbery in relation to Hoang’s death. Bone is also charged with a second count of second-degree murder in relation to the death of the 64-year-old male.
