The Edmonton Police Service (EPS) continues to seek the public’s assistance to help identify a suspect involved in a sexual assault that took place in May. On Thursday, May 26, 2022, police responded to the report of a sexual assault against a female in the area of 156 Street between 92 Avenue and 93A Avenue. It was reported that at approximately 8:20 p.m., a 19-year-old woman was walking in the area when a man sitting on the step of a nearby residence called out to her. The female continued to walk away when she noticed the male was following her. Moments later he attacked her from behind and assaulted her. A nearby citizen witnessed the incident and called out. The male subsequently released the woman and fled northbound down the alley off of 92 Avenue. The male and female were not known to one another.

The suspect is described as a 30 to 40-year-old Indigenous male who is approximately 5’9” tall with a muscular build and tattoos on both arms. He was reportedly wearing a blue t-shirt and white pants at the time of the attack.

The EPS issued a news release on May 27, 2022, which included images of the suspect. Investigators are now releasing CCTV footage of better quality which is included below.
