Police seek tips, video footage following mischief at historical building

The Edmonton Police Service (EPS) is seeking tips and video footage from the public following the smashing of multiple windows at the Hull Block in central Edmonton.

It was reported to police that sometime between 7 p.m. on Thursday, Aug. 4, and 7 a.m. on Friday, Aug. 5, 2022, seven windows were broken on the historic Hull Block building in the area of 106 Avenue and 97 Street.  The following week, at approximately 3:13 a.m. on Wednesday, Aug. 10, 2022, a hair salon in the building also reported that the front window of their business had been smashed.  In total, repairs to the building are estimated to be as high as $40,000. Photos of the damage are included below.

Officers continue to investigate and are asking anyone with information about the incident or the individual(s) involved to contact the EPS. Drivers, residents or businesses in the area who may have dash cam or security footage that was active at that time are also encouraged to contact police at 780-423-4567or #377 from a mobile phone.
