EDGE lays 53 charges in drug investigation

The Edmonton Police Service (EPS) has charged two people with 53 offences following a drug trafficking investigation.

In the month of July 2022, members of EDGE (Edmonton Drug and Gang Enforcement Unit) conducted a drug traffickinginvestigation involving a man and a woman. On July 28, 2022, police conducted a search warrant at a residence in the Griesbach neighbourhood, taking both people into custody and seizing drugs worth approximately $140,000, including 1.2 kg of methamphetamine, 1.3 kg of cocaine and 103 grams of fentanyl, as well as items associated with drug production. Police also seized four stolen handguns with ammunition and approximately $42,000.

Firearms seized

Cassiuis Paradis, 34 and Kira Pogorzelec, 27 are charged with 53 offences, including multiple charges under the Controlled Drugs and Substances Act (CDSA), possession of stolen property over $5,000 under the Criminal Code of Canada, as well as numerous firearms charges and three breaches of a firearms prohibition currently in place for Paradis.
