Edmonton Police Service Homicide Section detectives have charged one male in relation to the death of a 25-year-old male that occurred in central Edmonton.
On Wednesday, August 10, 2022, at approximately 9:45 a.m., police responded to the report of an unresponsive male in the area of 118 Avenue and 96 Street. When police members arrived, they located a 25-year-old male who was pronounced deceased on scene by paramedics.
On Saturday, August 13, 2022, the Edmonton Medical Examiner completed an autopsy on Owen Baptiste, 25. The cause of death was determined to be a gunshot wound, and Homicide detectives declared the manner of death to be homicide.
On Saturday, August 20, 2022, Singer Bird, 23, was arrested and charged with second degree murder.
