Autopsy complete, warrant issued in recent west Edmonton death

The Edmonton Police Service has issued a warrant for the arrest of a 38-year-old man following a homicide in west Edmonton last week.

On Friday, Aug. 26, 2022 at approximately 8 a.m., West Branch officers responded to a disturbance call at a multi-unit residence in the area of 102 Avenue and 158 Street. Upon arrival, officers located an injured male in his 30s. EMS responded, however, the male succumbed to his injuries on scene.

The Edmonton Medical Examiner completed an autopsy on the male today, Monday, Aug. 29, 2022, and determined that Elijah Cleaver, 32, died as a result of a stab wound and the manner of death is homicide.

Investigators have since issued a warrant for the arrest of Brandon Letendre, 38, who is wanted for second degree murder in relation to Cleaver’s death.

Letendre is described as 6’0” tall and weighs approximately 220 lbs. A photo of Letendre is included below.

Letendre is considered armed and dangerous, and citizens who encounter him are advised to not approach him and immediately contact police by calling 911.
