Autopsy complete in Tuesday suspicious death

An autopsy has been completed in the death of a male who was found deceased in an encampment on Tuesday afternoon.

The Edmonton Medical Examiner completed an autopsy today, Friday, Dec. 2, 2022, on Joseph Ross Gladue, 38. The cause of death is being withheld at this time for investigative reasons. The manner of death is pending, and Homicide Section continues to investigate the death as suspicious.

The death was originally reported to the city’s encampment team by an unidentified male. Detectives continue to seek out this male, as he may have information that could assist the investigation.

Background

On Tuesday, Nov. 27, 2022 at approximately 2:36 p.m., Downtown Branch officers responded to the report of a male who had been found deceased in an encampment near the walking path and LRT tracks in the area of 95 Street and 106 Avenue. (See previous news release.)
