The Edmonton Police Service (EPS) has arrested and charged a 30-year-old male in connection to a 2022 series of pharmacy robberies.

Between Jan. 3 and Feb. 21, 2022, EPS Robbery Section detectives responded to six pharmacy robberies across the city including:

  • Edgemont Pharmacy, Lessard Road
  • Medicine Shoppe Pharmacy, Millbourne Road
  • Pharmasave Pharmacy, 75 Street
  • Pharmasave, Winterburn Road
  • Pharmasave, 149 Street
  • Compassion Pharmacy, Chapelle Way

Investigators believe the same male suspect was responsible for all six robberies. It was reported to police that the suspect brandished a knife and made threats to pharmacy staff stating that he was also in possession of a firearm. The male targeted prescription opioids and cash during the series.

Robbery Section launched a 12-month investigation, and with tips from the public and forensic evidence recovered from the scenes, a suspect was eventually identified.

On Wednesday, Feb. 8, 2023, EPS Robbery Section detectives arrested and charged Steven Morin, 30, of Enoch, with 18 counts including robbery, disguise and use of an offensive weapon.
