Autopsies confirm man and woman died from multiple gunshot wounds

A man and woman who died in their vehicle on March 7th have since been deemed to be the victims of Edmonton’s latest homicide. 

The Edmonton Medical Examiner concluded autopsies on the deceased over the last two days, confirming that Mohamed Lamin Fofanah,20, and Mya Abialmouna, 21, died from multiple gunshot wounds with the manner of death being homicide.

EPS Homicide Section detectives continue to investigate.

Background:

On Tuesday, Mar. 7, 2023, at approximately 7:35 p.m., police responded to the report of a weapons complaint in the area of 132A Avenue and 66 Street. Upon arrival, officers discovered the 20-year old male and a 21-year-old female in a vehicle suffering from serious injuries. Paramedics responded, however, the two individuals succumbed to their injuries on scene.
