The Edmonton Police Service is searching for a male suspect, following a frightening encounter between a Grade 10 student and a gun-toting robber early today on the city’s south side.
At approximately 11 a.m. today, Southwest Division patrol members responded to an industrial area of the city near Argyll Road and 86 Street. Police scoured the area, after receiving a report that a Grade 10 student from a nearby school had been threatened by a male carrying what appeared to be a handgun.
The student was on his way to school, when he was approached by a male, who allegedly brandished a gun or a replica weapon and demanded money from the youth.
The suspect is described as being a Caucasian male in his 30's with blonde, shaggy, ear-length hair. He is believed to be approximately 5’5” tall and 125 pounds, and was wearing a black hoodie with a white skull and cross symbol on the front with black jeans, at the time of the incident. The suspect is also believed to have a tattoo on his right forearm (blue and red in color).
