The Edmonton Police Service (EPS) is
investigating a fatal collision that took place in north Edmonton yesterday
evening.
On Sunday, Sept. 3, 2023, at approximately 9:15 p.m. Northeast Branch patrol officers responded to a collision involving a vehicle and a pedestrian in the area of 118 Avenue and 57 Street. It was reported to police that a female was crossing 118 Avenue at 57 Street in a marked crosswalk when she was struck by a red Dodge Nitro travelling westbound on 118 Avenue.
EMS responded, however, the 73-year-old female pedestrian succumbed to her injuries on scene. The 36-year-old female driver of the Nitro remained on scene and did not report any injuries.
EPS Major Collision Investigations Section (MCIS) continues to investigate. Intoxication and speed are not considered factors in this collision.
