Police seeking the public’s help in hit-and-run investigation

The Edmonton Police Service Major Collision Investigations Section is asking for the public’s help regarding a serious injury hit-and-run collision which occurred late Thursday evening in central Edmonton.

Shortly after 9:00 p.m. on Thursday Aug. 31, 2023, police responded to the area of 96 Street and 115 Avenue for an injury hit-and-run collision. It was reported that a 24-year-old female was skateboarding north along 96 Street, crossing 115 Avenue, when she was struck by a vehicle travelling eastbound on 115 Avenue. The driver of the vehicle did not stop after the collision and continued east on 115 Avenue from 96 Street.

The female sustained life-threatening injuries and was transported to hospital by EMS. She remains in critical but stable condition.

Police are once again asking the public to review dash cam or security camera footage they might have for Thursday, August 31, 2023, between 9 p.m. and 9:15 p.m., from 92 Street and 95 Street, and between 115 Avenue and 111 Avenue. Following the receipt of additional information, police now believe the suspect vehicle is a dark grey pickup truck or SUV. The driver remains unidentified.
