Yesterday morning, Thursday, Oct. 26, 2023, during a vehicle stop, EPS Homicide detectives arrested Hamdi Abdi-Ahmed, 30, who was wanted on a warrant for second-degree murder regarding Mohamed’s death.
Investigators also recently issued second-degree murder warrants for the arrest of Abdullahi Are, 33, and Ahmed Osman, 34, (see two photos each of both accused below) in connection to Mohamed’s death. Osman is also wanted on warrants foruse firearm in commission of the offence of aggravated assault and possess firearm knowing serial number is altered/defaced/removed.

EPS investigators are asking anyone who may have information regarding the whereabouts of the two remaining accused in this homicide to contact police at 780-423-4567 or #377 from a mobile phone. Background:
At approximately 4:45 a.m., Sunday, Dec. 18, 2022, Downtown Branch patrol officers responded to a weapons complaint at a suite near 103 Street and 106 Avenue. Upon arrival, EPS members found a 23-year-old male suffering from serious, non-life-threatening injuries. Paramedics treated and transported the male to hospital.
While at the suite, EPS officers were directed to a secondary scene, a convenience store, near 104 Street and 107 Avenue.
Upon arrival, officers found Mohamed in the parking lot suffering from life-threatening gunshot injuries. He succumbed to his injuries on scene shortly thereafter. The Edmonton Medical Examiner confirmed that Ahmed Mohamed died from a gunshot wound, with the manner of death being homicide.
