The Edmonton Police Service (EPS) Homicide Section is investigating the death of a man that occurred early this morning.
On Thursday, July 18, 2024, at approximately 3:30 a.m., a 29-year-old male was dropped off at the Royal Alexandra Hospital with injuries consistent with a shooting. The male was treated by medical staff, but he succumbed to his injuries a short time later. Homicide Section detectives have since taken over the investigation.
An autopsy is scheduled for Friday, July 19, 2024, at 9:00 a.m.
Investigators are attempting to determine the location where the initial shooting took place.
“At this stage of the investigation we are attempting to determine exactly where the shooting took place,” says EPS Homicide Staff Sgt. Rob Bilawey. “Anybody with knowledge of a shooting overnight is asked to contact police immediately.”
