On Saturday, Oct. 12, 2024, at approximately 6:25 p.m., police responded to a single-vehicle collision in the area of Yellowhead Trail and 110 Street. It was reported to police that an Infinity G35 was travelling westbound on Yellowhead Trail in the far-right line, when it suddenly lost control, crossed all lanes of traffic, struck the centre median, rolled and landed in the far-left lane of Yellowhead Trail eastbound. The vehicle then burst into flames. Bystanders helped the four male occupants exit the burning vehicle.
EMS responded, treated and transported the adult male driver and one adult male passenger to hospital with serious but non-life-threatening injuries. Two male youth passengers were also transported to hospital as a precaution.
EPS Major Collision Investigations Section (MCIS) is now investigating and is asking any witnesses or citizens with dash camera video of the crash to contact the police at 780-423-4567 or #377 from a mobile phone.
Speed is believed to be a factor in this collision.
