The Edmonton Police Service is investigating an alleged home invasion that took place overnight in northeast Edmonton.

EPS Northeast Division officers responded to a complaint of a home invasion in the area of 138 Avenue and 66 Street at approximately 12:30 a.m. on Friday, June 14, 2013.  It was reported that between two to five adult males allegedly forced their way into a townhouse and assaulted two adult males and one female.  The suspects fled the scene on foot.

All three adults were treated and transported to hospital by EMS, with one of the males suffering serious but non-life-threatening injuries.  A pit bull dog also suffered injuries and was transported to the Emergency Vet Clinic for treatment.

EPS Canine Unit, Air One and Patrol assisted in the search but the suspects were not located.  Police continue to investigate and are conducting interviews with the victims and neighbourhood residents.  It was reported that the suspects were wearing masks and were allegedly armed with weapons, possibly a knife and a long barrelled firearm.  At this point in the investigation, no suspects have been identified and no arrests made.  The incident does not appear to be random in nature.
