Family contacted police to report the missing girl at 7:55 p.m. on Monday, June 23, 2014. It is believed that the girl’s last known location was in the area of 119 Street and 133 Avenue in north Edmonton. Police continue to actively search for the missing girl in her neighbourhood, as well as at schools, libraries, parks, malls, and on Edmonton Transit.
There are no indications to suggest foul play, however, due to the girl’s age there are concerns for her well-being.
Kayla Cindy Land, 12, is described as being an Aboriginal female, 5’2” tall, with a thin build, brown eyes, brown hair cut to chin level, and neat and tidy in appearance. She may be wearing a gold sleeveless top with high collar, white Lululemon hoody, blue jeans with rips in the fabric, black flat-style shoes, and a silver heart locket necklace. She may also be carrying a small pink purse and a black reusable tote bag.
