Between 6:30 and 8:00 p.m. on Friday, Sept. 19, 2014, it was reported that an unknown adult male attended the playground at Blair McPherson Park located in the area of Tamarack Road and 15A Street. The adult male tried to interact with several children who were playing at the park and allegedly made inappropriate physical contact with at least three children. Upon returning home, the children reported the incidents to their parents and police were notified.
The EPS Child Protection Section is continuing their investigation and EPS Southeast Division officers are patrolling in the area.
The suspect is described as being slightly darker skinned, possibly East Indian or Aboriginal, approximately 25 to 35-years-old, about 5’10” tall with husky build, weighing approximately 200 lbs., short black hair with some grey, face unshaven, with crooked and yellowing teeth, and walking with what appeared to be a limp. The male was reportedly wearing a grey t-shirt, black sport shorts with red and white stripe, and a white ball cap. The male was believed to be in the company of two other individuals, and left in a white or silver four-door vehicle.
“We don’t want to alarm anyone, but we are asking the public to be attentive and report any suspicious individuals or activities in the area,” says Det. Derek Lai with the EPS Child Protection Section. “We would like to identify this male and speak to him about his behaviour.”
