Southwest residents being cautioned about parkade theft-from vehicles

The Edmonton Police Service is cautioning residents in Southwest Edmonton against leaving valuables in their vehicles, on the heels of close to 60 incidents in that part of the city.

Police have been investigating a series of theft-from vehicles that have occurred in several neighbourhoods including Pleasantview, MacTaggart, Rutherford, Windermere, Callingwood South and Glastonbury.

The vehicle break-ins occurred throughout December 2014 and January 2015.

Thieves are targeting vehicles in parking garages and stealing keys, building/parkade fobs, change and gym bags found inside the vehicles.

Anyone with information about the suspect(s) responsible for any of these parking garage, theft-from vehicles is asked to contact the Edmonton Police Service at 780-423-4567 or #377 from a mobile phone.  Anonymous information can also be submitted to Crime Stoppers at 1-800-222-8477 or online atwww.tipsubmit.com/start.htm.
