The Edmonton Police Service is seeking the public’s assistance in locating a 24-year-old woman currently wanted on 44 outstanding, fraud-related warrants.

Investigators believe that Michelle Sonya Ulrich (see photo below) is responsible for multiple frauds involving the theft of women’s wallets at various shopping centres around Edmonton. Between August 2014 and February 2015, it’s alleged that women shopping in malls across the city had their wallets stolen, then were subsequently contacted by a female falsely representing herself as a customer service agent from the complainants’ respective financial institution.

The complainants were then reportedly advised that fraudulent activity was detected on their bank accounts, at which time the accused would request a PIN number for their debit and credit cards. Purchases were then made and cash withdrawn from complainants’ bank accounts.

The public is being reminded to protect themselves against fraud and to not provide sensitive personal information – including banking information – to anyone over the telephone.

Anyone with information regarding Michelle Ulrich’s whereabouts is asked to contact the Edmonton Police Service at 780-423-4567 or #377 from a mobile phone.  Anonymous information can also be submitted to Crime Stoppers at 1-800-222-8477 or online atwww.tipsubmit.com/start.htm.
