Many of you saw the signs announcing the Big Ticket Event also known as Operation 24 Hours, but others appear to have either been driving too fast or perhaps were driving while distracted.
In one instance a motorist was observed leaving a downtown liquor store parking lot driving at a high rate of speed. Police who were attempting to pull the vehicle over, estimated the motorist to be driving in excess of 100 km/h in a residential area in the vicinity of 96 Street and 118 Avenue. Members also observed the vehicle failing to stop for numerous stop signs. The male motorist was eventually arrested and charged with careless driving and other traffic violations.
