Investigators seek public’s assistance in identifying suspect who targeted photo radar van on Whitemud

The Edmonton Police Service is seeking the public’s assistance to identify a male suspect responsible for targeting an Office of Traffic Safety photo radar van.

It was reported to police that on Saturday, Aug. 1, 2015, at approximately 12:40 p.m., a male suspect was travelling westbound on the Whitemud near 53 Avenue, when he allegedly threw a large rock at a photo radar vehicle parked on the grassy medium in the middle of the freeway. The rock struck the rear driver’s side panel and dented the door causing more than $2,000 in damages.

Southwest Division investigators believe the suspect vehicle (see attached photos of suspect vehicle), was either a black or dark blue Pontiac Torrent. The suspect vehicle was not bearing a licence plate at the time of the incident.
