An Edmonton Police Service officer was charged today in relation to alleged internal thefts which took place between Sept. 7th, 2015 and Oct. 8th, 2015.
Const. Heinz Schilling, a 7-year member with the EPS was charged with one global count of theft under $5,000 pursuant to section 334(b) of the Criminal Code of Canada.
The charges stem from off-duty incidents where the constable was stealing fuel from City of Edmonton gas pumps. The constable is currently relieved from duty without pay.
The charges follow an in-depth investigation by the EPS Professional Standards Branch.
As the matter is currently before the courts, the EPS is not able to provide further comment or information about the incident or investigation.
