The Edmonton Police Service is investigating six separate reports of storefront break and enters this month.

Between October 1, 2015 to October 18 2015, police believe the B&Es occurred between midnight and 4 a.m. when employees are not working at the small businesses and fast-food restaurants.

The locations of the businesses are:

  • 101 Avenue & 56 Street
  • 90 Avenue & 62 Street
  • 106 Avenue & 78 Street
  • 76 Avenue & 74 Street
  • 82 Avenue & 73 Street
  • 101 Avenue & 75 Street

Undisclosed amounts of money and other property were reported stolen.

“At this time, it is uncertain if there is a connection in the reported occurrences,” says Const. Craig Beaton with Southeast Division. “We are still investigating and encourage anyone with information to contact police.”

Here are some property crime prevention tips:

  1. Ensure security cameras are working and recording with a clean lens.
  2. Ensure the security measures are clearly advertised on doors and windows.
  3. Have adequate lighting both inside and outside of the business for security camera recordings.
  4. Ensure the alarm system is working properly, armed and monitored.
  5. Ensure valuables are not visible and put away during cleanup and closing time.
  6. Report suspicious activity to the Edmonton Police Service.

Anyone who has information about any of these crimes is asked to contact the EPS at 780-423-4567or #377 from a mobile phone. Anonymous information can also be submitted to Crime Stoppers at 1-800-222-8477 or online at www.tipsubmit.com/start.htm.
