The Edmonton Police Service Homicide Section is investigating the suspicious death of a man who was found injured in Downtown Division early this morning.
Officers were called to 106 Avenue, just west of 96 Street, at approximately 12:55 a.m. on Thursday, May 5, 2016. An injured male with obvious signs of trauma was found bleeding on the ground. Police attempted CPR on the man, but he was declared deceased at the scene.
It is reported six to seven people were seen fleeing the area at the time of the incident. The EPS Homicide Section is working to identify suspects in the ongoing investigation.
An autopsy has been scheduled for Friday, May 6, 2016.
