EPS Recruitment Officers Heading to Calgary

The Edmonton Police Service (EPS)’s recruiting team is headed to Calgary from September 13 to 15 to hold an information session about what it takes to have a career in policing.

 

Recruiting officers will attend a career fair in Calgary on September 13 and will hold an information session at Bow Valley College on September 14 at 6 p.m. in room N-124. Media are invited to attend this session, and are encouraged to arrive early to interview recruiters prior to the start of the session.

Recruiters will be available to discuss the following topics:

 

  • Why you should consider a career with EPS
  • The benefits and career opportunities within the EPS
  • The requirements for becoming a police officer with the EPS
  • Information about the selection process
  • The training a new recruit undergoes prior to graduation

 

“This is the perfect opportunity for anyone who has considered becoming a police officer or those looking for a career change that offers stability, variety and the opportunity to change people’s lives,” says Const. Carmen Fidler with Recruiting Section. “We want all Albertans to know what a promising and rewarding career policing can be .”

 

The EPS is looking to hire a total of 140 new officers in 2016 and another 80 in 2017. The EPS is also looking to hire existing law enforcement officers through its Experienced Officer Program, which starts in August 2017.
