At approximately 6:50 a.m. today (Oct. 7, 2016), Southwest Division officers responded to a collision involving two pick-up trucks in the NB lanes of the Anthony Henday Drive, between the Lessard and Terwillegar Drive exits.
It’s reported that a Dodge Ram pick-up truck travelling southbound, crossed the median into the northbound lanes and collided with a Ford F150 pick-up truck travelling in the northbound lanes. The 31-year-old driver of the Ford pick-up truck was treated by EMS but was pronounced dead in hospital.
The 44-year-old driver of the Dodge truck has unknown injuries and was taken to hospital as well.
The cause of the collision is still under investigation. No charges have been laid at this time.
MCIU investigators are seeking more witnesses to the collision.
